Illustration: Folk Tales

This project started out with the FolktaleWeek hashtag on Instagram, which is a challenge  where anyone can draw or illustrate some folk tales.

I chose to do so traditionally, using gouache paints by Tales and Derwent pencils.
This one represents the iconic Alice Through the Looking Glass scene where the character jumps up on the fireplace and starts disappearing into the mirror.
We all have heard tales about a princess and a frog kissing and the latter turning into a prince, but in the original version, the princess is simply trying to reach a golden ball that the frog swallows.
Little Red Riding Hood is probably one of the most famous tales in the entire world, and here I tried to capture the dark atmosphere and the wolf hiding amongst the tall forest trees.
